DVLL Volunteer Code of Conduct

I hereby pledge to live up to my endorsement as a Deer Valley Little League Volunteer by following the Little League International rules, the DVLL Bi-Laws and abiding by the Volunteer Code of Conduct:

  1. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of all little league players ahead of a personal desire to win.

  2. I will treat everyone as individuals, remembering the common goal for all players is to learn the game of baseball.

  3. I will do my best to maintain the well-being and safety of all players.  

  4. I will do my best to uphold the rules and regulations set forth by Little League International.

  5. I will lead by example in demonstrating a positive attitude towards all little league members including players, family members, volunteers, coaches, umpires, and other board members.

  6. I will not cheat or engage in any form of unethical behavior that violates league rules.

  7. I will provide a sports environment for all teams that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.

  8. I will be knowledgeable in the rules of each division that play within Deer Valley Little League.

  9. I will remember that I am a volunteer, and that the game is for children.

  10. I will not be guilty of tampering or manipulation of any league rosters, schedules, draft positions or selections, official score books, rankings, financial records or procedures.

  11. I will learn the policies of the league.

  12. I will not gamble upon any play or outcome of any game with anyone at any time.

  13. I will never ridicule or yell at any player, family member, spectator, volunteer, umpire, coach, or board member for any reason.

  14. I agree to never use abusive or profane language.

  15. I agree to file, in writing to the League Board of Directors complaints regarding: violation of rules, questionable conduct such as abusive behavior by a player, coach or fan and irreconcilable personality conflicts to [email protected].

  16. I will inform a board member of any situation or player that may affect the safety of any players or the safety of others.

  17. Any volunteer who is involved in a verbal or physical altercation, or any incident of unsportsmanlike conduct, at the game site or any other Little League activity including through online or social media, is subject to disciplinary action by the local league Board of Directors. 

Any volunteer guilty of improper conduct will be spoken to by the league president about their conduct. Repeat violations may cause a vote for repercussions for continued violations of policy and may result in your removal.
